​Our client is a central London local authority who provide key housing across central and greater London through acquisition, refurbishment and new development opportunities and have a residential investment pipeline exceeding £150 million. They are now looking to hire an Assistant Development Manager to support the expansion of their social and affordable housing portfolio within London.

The successful candidate (with the support of the Housing Development Manager) will assist in the acquisition and delivery of temporary accommodation and provide project support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in projects involving conversions, rebuilds and refurbishments.

  • Assist in the management of project development phases from preparing business plans and investment proposals to appointing and overseeing the design teams.

  • Contribute to securing planning permission and support the management of tender processes to award construction contracts.

  • Help monitor project delivery and budget adherence.

  • Aid in identifying and evaluating new development opportunities and support due diligence and analysis cycles for potential acquisitions. ​

Candidate Background:

  • Degree educated in Real Estate or a related field.

  • MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM or RIBA qualified.

  • Experience in commercial/residential/housing development/urban planning or other field relating to real estate development.

  • Exposure to front end development appraisals, budgeting and master planning including proficiency in conducting feasibility studies.

  • Experience in financial management of development projects, risk management, compliance, stakeholder engagement and project management.

  • Experience in public sector/local authority partnering agreements would be advantageous.

Remuneration:

Up to £59,000 dependant on experience, plus benefits.
