Client side Project Manager – Central London PBSA Investor / Developer

We are currently working with a leading central London investor, developer and operator of purpose build student accommodation (PBSA). Due to continued year on year growth and a strong development and acquisition pipeline for 2023/4, they are looking for a Project Manager potentially from a quantity or building surveying background to join their team and contribute to the 360 development process.

Remuneration:
£55,000 - £65,000 + Benefits + Bonus

The Role:
The successful Project Manager / Quantity Surveyor will be based in their London office and will be join a small hands-on and proactive development team reporting into the project lead. The PBSA market similar to BtR has been one of the strongest and most stable Real Estate investment sectors over the last five years and has a strong growth forecast so is a good area for the right ambitious Project Manager to progress their career. They currently have a number of active new build development schemes valued at £100+ million and an exciting pipeline of existing asset enhancement projects valued between £300,000 and c. £20 million.

The Project Manager will gain wide exposure to the full development lifecycle from front end input into development appraisals, planning, design and delivery assisting and inputting into the larger developments and having the autonomy to lead some of their smaller and mid sized schemes. They are looking for a commercially astute Project Manager (potentially from a Quantity Surveying background) who will be comfortable on site challenging the consultant (design, planning, quantity surveyor) and contractor teams and keeping the schemes in lines with the planning and development agreements through RIBA 0 – 6.

The business has an excellent culture, they have a small yet dynamic team that punch well above their weight in terms or leading Grade A developments and they are looking for an intelligent and proactive individual to join the team.

Requirements:

  • MRICS qualified with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or Project Management

  • Ideally 3-5 years’ experience preferable within the Student Accommodation, Residential or Hotel sectors.

  • Experience running projects through the delivery cycle and a good understanding of M&E, building fabric would be advantageous.

  • Ability to work independently and handle mid-size projects autonomously

  • Commercially astute with a confident and ambitious attitude, good communication skills and a sense of humour.
