ESG Associate

​The Company:


Reporting directly to the CEO, a private investment and development company with a portfolio of central London office accommodation is seeking to recruit a newly created ESG Associate position. In a stand-alone position, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing the ESG strategy for the business in what is already a forward thinking ESG environment.


Summary role responsibilities:

  • Define the approach to ESG, covering all asset types including potential investments, standing investments and development.

  • Define, review and adjust existing ESG standards and best practice.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into business operations, policies, and decision-making processes.

  • Consider and confirm which benchmarks/targets should form part of the approach to ESG.

  • Review the details of each asset’s ESG strategy and set annual goals.

  • Work with the development team on design, procurement, and selection of materials, ensuring development activity is market leading from an ESG perspective.

  • Work with the asset management function on approach to fitting out, collaboration with incoming businesses and impact on the community, combined with developing the use of green leases.

  • Within property management, help lower energy consumption, drive efficiencies and measurement of data.

  • Review and implement a Net Zero strategy, including setting targets.


Experience and Personal Attributes:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ESG consulting related to real estate management, or ESG role within real estate management.

  • A good sense of the theoretical side of ESG but an even stronger understanding of the practical side of implementing ESG in real estate.

  • Understanding of real estate and building operations is important.

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Environmental Studies, Construction Management, Structural Engineering or Real Estate Management or relayed subject matter

Remuneration:


Whilst there is some flexibility on salary level, it is expected to be between £70,000 and £85,000, dependant on experience. There will also be benefits and bonus on offer.

Please note that whilst this is likely to be a full time role, the client would also consider candidates wishing to do a part time role (3.5 or 4 days per week).
