The Company and Role

Falmouth Fairfax are excited to be exclusively retained by Kinderzimmer, one of the largest day-care providers in Germany and part of Haniel Group (a privately owned investment holding company comprising a portfolio of businesses). As they look to expand into new markets, they are seeking a Head of Acquisitions who will be solely responsible for implementing and executing Kinderzimmer’s ambitious growth plans, targeting 50+ sites in the UK in line with their plans to grow the business by 300% over the next 5-10 years.

As the Company’s first UK hire, this individual will play a pivotal role in the UK’s expansion with the ability to grow a team under them whilst having the support of the wider business (HR, finance, analysts, legal etc). Location preference and focus will be London with future UK wide expansion.

Position responsibilities

  • Working with the Chief Growth Officer to define the expansion strategy for the UK.

  • Manage the acquisition of new locations for The Kinderzimmer Group in the UK.

  • Lead and structure the negotiations of lease agreements and purchase contracts with internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with strategic partners in the UK real estate industry. This includes landlords, project developers and brokers/agents.

  • Hiring and managing the UK Expansion team.

Qualifications, experience and personal competencies

  • Law, Economics or Real Estate-related degree or equivalent qualification.

  • Relevant professional experience in the real estate industry ideally focusing on the acquisition / expansion of multi-site operational assets.

  • Social sector experience (healthcare, nurseries, age living) would be a plus.

  • A strong network in the UK real estate industry.

  • Broad experience of structuring acquisitions and a knowledge of lease agreements.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strong negotiation skills.

  • Fluent in English (German language skills would be advantageous but not essential).
