​Our client is a central London local authority who provide key housing across the borough through acquisition, refurbishment and new development opportunities and have £150 million+ residential investment pipeline. They are now looking to hire a Development Manager to support the expansion of their social and affordable housing portfolio within central London.

The successful candidate will support the Senior Investment Manager with the strategic planning and implementation of development initiatives and effective project management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate new development opportunities and assistant Senior Investment Manager with due diligence for proposed acquisitions.

  • Plan and implement development initiatives including conversions, rebuilds, refurbishments and full land development appraisal opportunities.

  • Oversee project development phases including the preparation of business plans and investment proposals.

  • Appoint and manage professional design teams.

  • Oversee design to ensure quality construction and cost optimisation.

  • Manage tender processes to award contracts that contribute to the investment proposals and delivery of projects.

  • Monitor project delivery and adhere to budgets.

Candidate Background:

  • Degree educated in Real Estate Development, Urban Planning, Architecture, Planning Law or similar.

  • Professional qualification in surveying, real estate, or a related field (likely to be RICS).

  • Demonstrable experience overseeing large scale residential developments, preferably in London.

  • Strong track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and effective management of stakeholder groups.

  • Expertise in delivering projects that exceed financial, timing and quality expectations.

  • Proactive in their approach, ambitious, collaborative and enterprising.

Remuneration:

Up to £72,000, dependant on experience, plus benefits.
