The Company

A strategic asset & development manager focused on retail transformation and repositioning is seeking a Senior Asset Manager to join its growing team. With an exceptional reputation within its sector, our client works with leading private equity investors, Local Authorities and banks.

The Asset

This asset management role will work at a senior level on the transformation of a super-regional shopping and mixed use destination. With a multi-million pound investment programme over the coming years, the asset business plan is to transform the asset into a vibrant family lifestyle destination with a leading retail and leisure offer. This will involve one of the retail and mixed-use sectors most exciting placemaking projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a project focused team at a senior asset manager level, reporting to the project lead, responsible for driving forward the programme of investment scheduled over the coming years. This individual will be accountable for optimising performance and managing/mitigating risks at the asset through strong asset management leadership and decision making, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders. In more detail, this will require this individual to:

  • Understand and contribute to the strategic direction and investment plan for the asset.

  • Drive delivery of the plan and monitor performance against it.

  • Manage and execute leasing and major lease events in line with asset strategy.

  • Oversee projects - refurbishments, reconfigurations and redevelopment.

  • Ensure an asset management strategy is embedded within the development process.

  • Coordinate production of annual business plans, budgets, and multi-annual cashflow projections.

  • Manage third party service providers.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Ideally a qualified Chartered Surveyor, but not essential.

  • Demonstrable experience in shopping centre asset management, ideally on an asset with a large-scale project and/or delivering a repositioning strategy.

  • Experience overseeing development and reconfiguration projects (in conjunction with a development team / project management team).

  • Retail repositioning knowledge, with evidenced experience.

  • Numerical good Excel skills, with the ability to understand and influence cashflows.

  • Understanding and ability to engage with local authorities.

 Remuneration:

The role has a likely basic salary of c. £90,000, dependant on experience, however candidates with strong experience for this role who are on higher current packages are still welcome to apply and will be considered.
