Development Manager – Residential and Retail mixed Use regeneration - London

We are currently working with a market leading investment, asset management and development business who are at the forefront of their industry.  Specialising in retail and town centre regeneration and place making they have over £1.5 billion of assets under management and due to further growth, they are looking for a Development Manager with residential experience to join their team.

Remuneration:
£70,000 - £85,000 + Benefits + Bonus

The Development Manager will lead with supervision of the Development Director the master planning and delivery of large repurposing and re-development projects valued at circa £50+ million, re-imagining communities and placemaking to provide sustainable and inclusive future communities.  In addition, the Development Manager will be providing development expertise to the Asset Management teams across the existing retail mixed-use portfolio on schemes up to c. £10 million.

They are looking for a dynamic Development Manager who has 360 cradle to grave development oversight but who has a strong focus on the front end acquisition analysis, appraisals (being able to lead and manipulate models) and planning working with partners from private equity, local authority and banks.  Their asset portfolio is full mixed-use however this role will have a residential BTR slant and focus.

The role will include:

  • Master planning and delivery of large shopping and town centre re-development schemes.

  • Financial modelling, appraisals and cash flows, to assess viability and feasibility.

  • Preparation and management of project budgets and cashflows

  • Identification and assembly of the external consultant teams including planning, design and project management and oversight in delivery.

  • Internal and external stakeholder management, presentations and relationship building with local authorities, private equity and banks.

  • Working closely with the investment, asset management and insight teams.


Due to the future growth expectations of the business and in particular this division they are looking for a dynamic, highly driven individual who has ambitions to develop their career within town centre regeneration and development.

Requirements:
 

  • MRICSwith a degree in Real Estate or Project Management / Development.

  • 5 years post qualified experience overseeing 360 development projects within residential and retail mixed-use.

  • Fully conversant with development appraisals, cashflows and master planning

  • Ability to negotiate agreements to lease, development agreements and section 106, 278 etc.

  • Good stakeholder engagement and management experience

  • A team player who wants to work in an entrepreneurial, team orientated company and is passionate about creating sustainable town centre community places.
